HOW TO BREW THE PERFECT FRENCH PRESS COFFEE
Step 1 :
MEASURE & GRIND
Measure 1 to 2 tablespoons of coffee per 6 ounces of water. Use a coarse grind for French press to avoid over-extraction and to prevent coffee grounds from seeping through the filter.
Step 2:
HEAT WATER
Bring your water to just below boiling, around 200°F. If you don’t have a thermometer, let the water sit for about 30 seconds after boiling.
Step 3:
ADD GROUNDS & WATER
Place the coffee grounds into the French press. Pour the hot water evenly over the grounds, saturating them. Let it sit for 30 seconds to bloom, then fill the rest of the press with water.
Step 4:
STEEP & PRESS
Put the lid on with the plunger pulled all the way up. Let the coffee steep for 4 minutes. Once done, slowly press the plunger down evenly to separate the grounds from the liquid.
Step 5:
POUR & ENJOY
Pour your freshly brewed coffee immediately, savouring the rich, full-bodied flavour that the French press offers.
