And how we got from Starbucks in the suburbs – to changing the coffee game in the city.
JERRY'S FIRST LOVE
My love for coffee began in 2009.
Being the youngest of three, it’s natural to want to keep up with what your brothers are trying. One day, it was coffee; and sparked by my brothers’ excitement over their first experience – I needed in.
One sip, and I was hooked.
Growing up in the Suburbs, I checked out a variety of coffee franchises, but it wasn’t until I moved to Toronto that my coffee journey truly took off.
In the city’s vibrant coffee culture, I left drip coffee behind for the rich, bold flavours of espressos and Americanos. I was getting hooked, so my roommate and I bought our first real espresso machine, basically turning our apartment into a playground for experimentation.
That’s where I fully dived in and knew this was for me. Over the next couple of years, I joined the barista movement, exploring beans and refining my craft.
It was great, but something was missing. The coffee I tried focused on either flavour or caffeine, rarely both. So, it was time to set out to create something new—a coffee that balanced exquisite taste with the perfect buzz. And that’s how Jerry’s Espresso was born. A tribute to my lifelong love for coffee and my pursuit of the perfect cup.

After about a decade and a half of my love for coffee deepening, it was time to take quality control into my own hands.
Partnering with local roasters, I sampled dozens of beans to fully understand the impact the different climates have on the beans' final flavor. After two years of slurping and a lot of caffeine-fueled work days, I knew I was ready to source, roast, and share my beans with the world.
Each region I chose brings something unique—whether it's the high altitudes of Guatemala adding brightness, or the volcanic soil in Papua New Guinea infusing deep, fruity undertones. These environments shape every single cup.
Working closely with expert roasters, each batch is carefully roasted to bring out the best in every bean. From the light, fruity notes to the bold, chocolatey undertones, every roast is crafted with precision to ensure the flavors shine through.
